The small print, made smaller.
These are the terms for using Nigel. By creating an account you agree to them, so they're written to be read.

01Who we are
Nigel is run by These Guys Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, number 14968580, with its registered office at 53c Waldram Park Road, London SE23 2PW. You can reach us at sean@theseguys.co.
02What Nigel is
Nigel is a calendar, a task list and a rate card in one place, used in a web browser on a laptop or desktop computer. It's new, and it will keep changing as we improve it.
03Your account
- You sign in with Google or with a link we email you. Keep access to that account or inbox secure, because anyone who has it can get into Nigel.
- One account is for one person.
- You need to be 18 or over.
- Tell us straight away at sean@theseguys.co if you think someone else has got into your account.
04Free period and price
Nigel is free until 1 January. You don't need to give us a card during the free period.
After that, Nigel costs £3.99 a month, including VAT. If you sign up before the free period ends, your price stays at £3.99 a month for as long as you keep your subscription going, even if the price goes up for new customers later. If you cancel and come back, you pay the price at that time.
We'll email you at least 30 days before the free period ends. Nothing is charged unless you choose to carry on and add a card. If you don't, your account stays open so you can export your work. Check with the app: what an unpaid account can still do after the free period.
Once paid, you can cancel any time. You'll keep access until the end of the month you've paid for, and we won't charge you again.
If you change your mind, ask within 14 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full. This covers your legal right to cancel as a UK consumer.
05Your work is yours
Everything you put into Nigel stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only so we can run Nigel for you. You can export it at any time from Settings, Data, Export.
If you add details about other people, such as clients, make sure you're allowed to. How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
06Google Calendar
Connecting your Google Calendar is up to you. Nigel reads it to show your events, and only changes it if you turn on two-way sync, in which case it manages the events Nigel created. Your use of Google is also covered by Google's own terms. You can disconnect at any time.
07Fair use
Please don't:
- use Nigel for anything illegal, or to store anything you don't have the right to
- try to break into Nigel, other people's accounts, or the systems it runs on
- overload it on purpose, or scrape it with automated tools
- copy, resell or rent out Nigel itself
08The numbers
Nigel adds up the hours, rates and billing entries you give it. It isn't accounting, tax or legal advice. Check anything that matters, such as an invoice, before you rely on it.
09Availability
We work hard to keep Nigel running and your data backed up, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Sometimes we'll take it offline to improve it. Exporting your work now and then is a good habit.
If we change or remove a feature in a way that matters to you, we'll try to tell you first. If we ever close Nigel down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to take your work with you.
10Ending things
You can stop using Nigel and delete your account at any time from Settings, Data and account, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts Nigel or other people at risk. Unless it's serious or urgent, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to export your work.
11Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. If you use Nigel as a consumer, you also have legal rights these terms don't affect.
Otherwise, we aren't responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for lost profits, income or business opportunities. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you've paid us in the 12 months before the problem, or £100.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can stop using Nigel and take your work with you.
13The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
